Our third ingredient in dermsystems Transformative Moisturizer is Chamomile, which is known to Soothe Redness, Fight Acne, and Reduce Signs of Aging.
Chamomile has long been a key ingredient in soothing skin care regimens. Even the ancient Greeks and Egyptians applied crushed chamomile flowers to their skin to treat weather-related redness and dryness.
Hundreds of years later, scientific research has found that chamomile compounds likely make it a powerful skin multitasker. Chamomile is often used to help tame skin inflammation from sunburn and rashes, and it seems to curb inflammation, and antibacterial properties make it a particularly important natural ingredient in acne-fighting skincare products. Using chamomile on the skin brings along powerful antioxidants which help the skin to regenerate, tighten pores and slow down ageing effects on the skin.
Chamomile’s anti-inflammatory and healing properties appear to be especially soothing for sensitive skin types and treat eczema, psoriasis and rosacea.
The flavonoids in chamomile can get deep into the skin and are so powerful that studies have shown it to be about 60% as effective as 0.25% hydrocortisone cream. The mild antiseptic qualities of chamomile, combined with its antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, make it ideal for treating facial wounds. In fact, chamomile has been shown to result in complete wound healing more speedily than corticosteroids.
We’ve made sure to bring you chamomile in our brand new dermsystem Transformative Moisturizer. Repurposing chamomile stem extract, a by-product of the tea industry that would otherwise go to waste, we’ve combined it with the aloe vera leaf juice and enriched it with seaweed extract. Our moisturizer is a versatile part of your skincare routine after you’ve cleansed your skin, exfoliated, or for a middle-of-the-day refresh, if your skin feels dull and sluggish, dermsystem is here to help.
